I am attempting to track down
any info on my Uncle Lt JG Vincent (vinnie) Collins. He flew off the
Yorktown in WWII, stayed in the Navy after the war as Cmdr of the Air group
and passed away in the late 60's. I assume he flew in Air Group V but I'm
not sure. If you don't have any roster info. could you direct me to a
source that does. Thank you, Tom Siegel |

I served on the midway in
1962-1966. I am looking for information and dates on any accidents
especially one where a male was riding a jet starter and fell into
elevator number one and as a result he lost both legs. If you have any
information that I have requested please notify me at corayjr@aol.com
Sincerely, Damage control third class Richard A. Knabb |

As a crew member of the USS
Coral Sea, I no longer have a ship to give my love and donations to. The
Coral Sea was in dry dock at Hunters Point when the Midway came in (1966)
and was she a lovely ship to this 19 year old. So, now, 35 years later, I
will be contributing to the museum on a regular basis. I understand that
parts of the Coral Sea will be on display. |

Great seeing your tribute to
the Midway. I served aboard her with VF-151 on a WestPac 1970-71, I was an
AQ2 working on the F-4B.
She was a great ship - many years later I took my wife and kids to see her
decommissioned in San Diego - it was great to be on her decks again, even
though it was for the last time.
Can't wait to visit her again in San Diego - as a museum!
God Bless & good sailing. |
