Hi Troy,
Loved your website. Brought back a ton of memories.
I was stationed on the USS Midway from 1980-84, spent 2 years in
Bermuda on guard three duty, then two years on the Indy before
getting out of the Nav.
Thanks for the website!
Regards,
-Bruce |

Good luck on your
endeavor for Midway. As a Coral Sea sailor we are looking forward
to a room for our memorabilia. Am looking forward to visiting in
the near future. Again smooth sailing. |

Troy,
Thanks for the nice web site. I rode the Midway, 1971 through
1973. Made two westpac's, 1971 and 1972. The 1972 westpac was the
toughest, 327 days away from the homeport of Alameda. I was a
"snipe" (engineering dept.) I have some pictures of the Engine
room crews of that era, which I'll scan and send you in the next
few weeks as I have the time. Actually have to find the pictures
in the old foot locker. Hope to get out to see the ship sometime.
The site sure brings back the memories.

Looking for anyone who
served with my father, John (Jack) Hurst Richardson from Ridgeway
Pennsylvania, aboard the USS Midway from 1948-1952. He served in
the Composite Squadron Six (VC-6). He served all but three and
half months aboard ship. All replies will be answered. |

Although it was 22
years ago that I reported aboard the Midway, it seems like
yesterday! I remember seeing the Midway from the taxi while
approaching. How big she was to a seventeen year old kid! She will
always have a place in my heart. Respectfully Submitted. |

searching for "Navyman". Very good site. Glad to have have found

I was stationed at NAS
Atsugi in 1954 with MAG 11. I am looking for music circa 1954
(American music, sang by Japanese). Also, I would like pictures of
Atsugi & surrounding area from that time.

Super site with
wonderful pix; a great tribute to a great ship!
I could use the help of Midway vets from the 1965 and '72 cruises.
I am putting together a photo book of USN aircraft credited with
downing North Vietnamese MiGs (F-4s, F-8s, A-1s and A-4s). Does
anyone out there have photos of VF-21 F-4Bs, VA-25 A-1s or VF-161
F-4Bs? If so, please drop me a line.
Thanks much.
Mike O'Connor
p.s. All of Midway's
Vietnam War MiG kills are described in my book MIG KILLERS OF
YANKEE STATION published in 2003. |
