After 22 years of
service I have to say Midway Magic was the "BEST YEARS" of all. I
reported there straight out of "A" in 1983 and spent the next 4
years learning my foundation of the Navy that I came to appreciate
after I left Midway. I served in S-7 division from May 1983 until
Nov 1986. Thanks for the memories and the Magic..... |

I was visiting your
site, great job on the ship. You guys and gals have her looking
'4.0'....I have been involved with trying to get the USS America
CVA-66 donated for a museum, but no luck. We will be attending a
'send off' of sorts for her on 25FEB05 at the Philadelphia Yards.
The DOD has decided to 'scuttle' her off of the coast of New
Jersey somewhere for an artificial reef for fish. |

Went aboard the Midway
last year while visiting in San Diego. Good ship, good visit. Even
though I never served on a carrier I chased them many hours on the
east coast of US, in the Med, in the Formosa Straight and places
unknown in the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean.
