Plank Owner 69-73.
Served in OI Div. RD3/OS3. I've always been impressed with the
mystic the U.S.S. Midway has held all these years, it once was my
home, a place to meet interesting and valuable people, and the
means to visit far away places. It was a true adventure, wish I
could do it all over again. The U.S. Navy gave me education,
discipline, and respect for others. It also gave me pride.
Although my service was short lived, I managed to complete my 20
year tour serving in the U. S. Army, achieving Chief Warrant 2. Hope
to hear from others serving in OI Div. during this period. Can't
say I'll remember them but it would be interesting.

I served on Midway
74-77, in OE Division. I was proud to represent the ship on the
ship's bowling team for most of the 3 years. Had some great times
with some great people. |

I'm sad to say my
brother Lcdr. Robert E. Borgerding (BOB), has passed away at age
48 on May 7, 2005. He served in the control tower in the late
1980's. He was always proud of the men he worked with. The family
would like to thank all of you who was a friend of Robert. We'll
miss him. |

I was an HM1 on the
Midway in 1972 Mission 72 when a plane crashed onto the flight
deck with much loss of life. I would like to meet up with the rest
of the Med. Dept. from that time. |
