I visited USS Midway August 2004 with a sailor who started his career on the Midway, we were both stationed on USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76. MM1(SW/AW) Charles Smith showed me Midway magic. Charles retired on USS Midway after 20 years of service. That feeling I got when I stepped foot on the Midway is something I will never forget, I am stationed on USS Harry S Truman CVN75 and every time things get rough I look back at my experience on the Midway and I get that feeling again. I was never stationed on Midway but in a way I felt I should have been.

Served In VAW-115 from 1984 to 1987, Aircraft Division Power Plants shop. Had a great time on the Midway and have found that when I look back on my time there, that it was the best in my life as a young man.
