Midway's Hangar
SNJ-5 |
|
 |

In this photo, the aircraft has had its propeller, wings, canopies, and some
body panels temporarily removed, but is in very good condition for its age. |

The restoration volunteers had to acquire or reconstruct some of the missing
body panels, like the one in yellow which joins the wing to the fuselage. |

At one time, the side panels of the SNJ were open, so you
could see what the interior of a WWII aircraft looked like. |

The aircraft was once painted as a T-6 for a role in a movie called Swing
Shift, starring Goldie Hawn as a Rosie the Riveter-type character. |
