Personal Note: I have just moved this site from it's original hosting service to another when I discovered I could get five times more server space at a quarter of the price I was paying. I couldn't resist jumping on the chance to save over $200 a year. I can now have more content and even provide larger images in the photo galleries. With so much more space, I have also taken my other site, VAQ136.com and brought it back to MidwaySailor.com.

Note: (This is an update to my note on the 16th) I went to the museum in Blaine and got a bonus - the Discover Aviation Days air show was taking place with many WW II aircraft and several more modern jet trainers participating. I ended up spending eight hours in the hot sun (I have one heck of a tan now) and bought four additional rolls of film, making it a grand total of 16 rolls for this air show. The new camera worked beautifully and I can't wait to see how they look. Now I need to figure out a way to afford the developing costs and then scan them all. It will be a couple of weeks until the new gallery is finished, but it should be well worth the wait!

Cruises & Squadrons page in the USS Midway section - updated squadrons aboard for the following cruises: 06 JAN ~ 23 MAY 50 Med Cruise, 10 JUL ~ 10 NOV 50 Med Cruise, and 27 DEC 54 ~ 14 JUL 55 World Cruise. The updated information was submitted by Captain H. Urban, Jr., USN (Retired) after researching log books. Captain Urban was a pilot in VC-4 at the time of the first two cruises and during the World Cruise was the Senior Air Controller in the Combat Information Center aboard Midway.

Guest book - Due to the guest book having grown so immense, I have decided to split it into yearly sections. While the original guest book was sufficient for the old version of this site, there are now more entries for the military sections than for the regular sections. Because of this, I will leave the regular section entries in the original HTML Gear guest book and move the military section entries into archives located on this site.
When the guest book is initially signed, all entries will be in the original guest book. On a regular basis, I will remove the military section entries and place them in the archives. All 2000, 2001, and 2002 entries have been moved and the 2003 entries are being done as they are entered.
All of the archived entries are by Midway and air wing personnel, as well as other military members and people interested in the subjects on this site.

Personal Note: Spent Saturday and Sunday converting this entire site from basic "off the top of my head" notepad edited HTML over to a Microsoft Front Page generated website. I still do the HTML manually, it's just easier to do the huge tables on the cruise pages in Front Page.
