What If's & WTF's
41 Spike
Eddie Miller sent me this 2 1/2" spike with a
"41" on its head. Could this have been from Midway's
original construction back in 1943~45? It's about the size needed if wood had been used
in her
construction. Actually, this is really a railroad
date nail from 1941 & even though it's not really
from the Midway,
it does have the "41" & it's a fun item to use as a "What If?"

WTF ?!?
I bought this ball cap on eBay
just because it was so wrong!
First, Midway was NOT a
nuclear-powered ship as the CVN signifies.
Midway's classifications were: CVB-41, CVA-41 & CV-41. Second, the
silhouette is of a
Nimitz-class carrier. |

I'm sorry, but I am not
selling the items in this gallery. The items shown here are from my own personal collection
or were submitted by former crewmembers for viewing on this site.
For anyone interested in obtaining Midway memorabilia, eBay always has much to offer. I recommend using the "Search" tool on eBay's homepage, using the following keywords:
"USS MIDWAY" or "CV-41"
Some of the items frequently offered are:
Patches, lapel/hat pins, hats, videos, Zippo lighters, T-shirts, photos, postcards, cuff links, matchbook covers, ashtrays, cruise books, stationary, plastic models, and much more.
In addition to eBay, there are many online stores offering Midway memorabilia. Patches and hats are the most common items, with shirts and sweatshirts also available.
